ChildrenA Note to Parents Do you realize that you are given the task of teaching your children about faith? It is not someone else's job. It is your job as a parent to "usher your children" into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Here are some tips for intentional faith development with children.
Teach at Bedtime Make bedtime ritual a part of learning about Jesus and the Bible. This instills within the child that a great way to rest is to know God's power in your life. Click here to get notes from Sunday's video which you can review with your child each night.
Teach at Breakfast You can write scriptures or buy scriptures on a card. Each morning as you pray, have your children read a Scripture card. Or you read a Scripture card. Print out the prayer requests from the website and let the child pick one person to pray for at breakfast. You can also let them pray for them at night too!
Teach at life goes on! Ask your children questions about life's events--Do you think God is glad/sad when this happens? As you view creation, "isn't this world a wonderful gift from God?" As an ambulance or emergency vehicle passes, we need to pray for them--and then do it! Tell your children the stories of your faith. "I felt God's presence when....."
You will be surprised at how much faith can be "caught" in children's lives when parents are intentional in the moments of life.
