September 27:
What Difference Do It Make? by Ron Hall, Denver Moore, and Lynn Vincent - Stories of hope and healing by the authors of Same Kind of Different as Me. These are the guys who challenged Ft. Worth and the world to re-think the homeless issue.
October 25:
Choose Love Not Power: How to Right the World's Wrongs From a Place of Weakness and Following Jesus Without Embarrassing God by Tony Campolo - Two books by Campolo, who spoke to the UMC on evangelism last fall. We read his book Red Letter Christians.
November 22:
The Real Jesus: Misguided Quest for the Historical Jesus by Luke Timothy Johnson - A former Benedictine monk and priest who served St. Joseph's Abbey in late '60s and early '70s, now Professor Emeritus at Candler School of Theology, Emory University.
December 20:
Because He Lives: Faith, Hope, and Love in Action by Catherine Ritch Guess
 
 
 
George Washington's Sacred Fire by Dr. Peter Lilibach and Jerry Newcomb - This book argues that our first President was a Christian, not a Deist.
 
Supernatural Selection: How Religion Evolved by Matt Rossano - This book is in part a response to 2006 bestseller The God Delusion, an atheist manifesto that pitted science against religion. Matt Rossano is a psychology professor and department head at Southeastern Louisiana University.
